I watched as the flames began to flower,
As I watched, I saw the plane hit the other tower,
And debris begin to descend in a deadly shower.

Then, came the greatest blow,
The Pentagon attack they did show,
And a crash in Pennsylvania was announced,
Do they think America can be trounced?

With heavy hearts we watched the story,
Soon we saw unfold America’s true glory,
People came from far and near to assist,
The call, their hearts could not resist.

Police, Firemen, and many many others,
Came to help and save all our brothers,
They searched and dug through the rubble,
Without a thought about any other trouble.

Then in horror we saw buildings begin to fall,
All of those dedicated people were standing tall,
Even though they saw their brother’s plight,
Not one of them considered taking flight.

Prayers and support were the order of the day,
And none of those prayers would go astray,
America is a nation strong and proud,
We will not be defeated by this crowd.

God has blessed this beautiful land,
Now, together, we must take a stand,
Don’t let evil destroy our future days,
Freedom must be our goal now and always.

So, keep our banner waving bold and free,
Defending our country, don’t you see,
That the only way we can ever survive,
Is to kneel and pray, and keep hope alive.

Social Security 2009 I COULDN’T forward this FAST enough………!!

2010 is an election year for 1/3 of the senate and 1/2 of the house of representatives. It would be nice if congress got the message; the voting taxpayers are in charge now. Social Security  2009

SOCIAL SECURITY:
(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we  are asking the wrong questions during election  years.

Our Senators and  Congresswomen do  not pay into Social  Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You  see, Social Security benefits were not suitable  for persons  of their rare elevation in society.  They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in  their own benefit  plan.

In more recent years, no congress person  has felt the need to change it. After all, it is  a great plan.

For  all practical purposes their plan works like  this:
When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.
Except  it may increase from time to time for cost of  living adjustments. …..

For  example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and  their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00  (that’s Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand  Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000..00  during the last years of their lives.
This  is calculated on an average life span for each of those two  Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much  more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost  for this excellent plan is $0.00.  ZIP!! NADA!!! ZILCH!!!

This  little perk they voted for themselves is free to  them. You  and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for  this fine retirement plan come directly from the  General Funds;

“OUR  TAX DOLLARS AT WORK”!

From  our own Social Security  Plan,  which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every  payday until we retire  (which amount is matched  by our employer ), We  can expect to get an average of
$1,000  per month after  retirement.

Or,  in other words, we would have to collect our  average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years  and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill  Bradley’s benefits!

Social  Security could be very good if only one small  change were made.

That change would be to Jerk  the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the  Senators and Congressmen. . Put them into the  Social Security plan with the rest of  us

Then sit  back…..
And see how fast they would fix it!
If enough  people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will  evolve.

How  many people can YOU send this to?

How many  people WILL you send this to ? P.S. The same goes for their healthplan SEND TO YOUR CONGRESSMEN and SENATORS TOO!

Those who are against it say it is unconstitutional as it is an illegal search. They also say it is racist because 90% of welfare recipients are black or Hispanic. I cannot verify that fact, but that is what was said. They claim it is an invasion of their privacy, and is a violation of their rights. They say it is a way to deny benefits to the families of drug addicts.

Those who support such a law say that if they are subject to drug testing to get and keep a job so they can take care of their families and pay the taxes which provide the money for the welfare benefits it is unfair to them to have drug addicts using their money to support their habit.

There are many other reasons stated on both sides but the main theme is as I have indicated.

Welfare is meant to be a temporary aid to persons who for reasons beyond their control are unable to provide for their families. If it were being used that way in its entirety, I don’t think people would have a problem with it. However, everyone knows that the system is being abused daily, and that there are second and third generation welfare families. Far too many people are simply too lazy to support themselves so they apply for and get welfare. In many cases females continue to have children because for each child the amount of welfare they get increases.

Those who support the testing of all welfare recipients are just plain tired of paying such high taxes to support those who abuse the system. People who work don’t like seeing welfare recipients living better and having more and better things than they can afford to have.

 I do not agree with mandatory testing for all recipients, but if it appears that there is abuse of the system happening then, yes, they should be tested. For instance, if a family is receiving assistance and the children do not appear to be better fed and clothed, etc. than before, then something is wrong and it needs to be investigated.

Many times parents are using that money to buy alcohol, tobacco, and drugs instead of providing for the children which is what welfare is supposed to do. All recipients should have to sign a form when they apply agreeing to the testing.

The fact that most people have to sign such an agreement and also pass a test prior to being employed, means to me that the testing is not discriminatory, unconstitutional, nor a violation of any personal rights and if welfare recipients can be excluded from testing based on the idea that it is a violation of their rights and/or is discriminatory then random drug testing by employers should be stopped for the same reasons.

“The absence of a European-style social welfare state is certainly connected with the widespread perception among the white majority that the relevant programs would disproportionately benefit African Americans (and more recently Hispanics),” wrote Sunstein.

Everyone needs to read this, even if you don’t have kids in school, remember each of you was once a student.

Dear Mr. Politician, yes or no:

1. I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

2. I believe government should not increase the financial burden on its citizenry during difficult economic times therefore I will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded.

3. I believe more than four decades of U.S. dependence on foreign oil is a travesty therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas, and coal as necessary.

4. I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering and why and I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity, power over U.S. citizens.

5. I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

If your politician doesn’t believe, support or reflect these beliefs in their actions (not the little words they say), then they aren’t supporting you. More importantly, they aren’t supporting, protecting or defending the Constitution and it’s time to vote the bums out.
